I bought this book a year ago, and wanted to spend a least a month chewing on the information, one of the most powerful books on consciousness, melanin serpent powers I have read thus far, the first half of the book from pages 1-124 took time to get thought the medical jargon in learning about the different functions of the brain. after that you got a course in awakening the divine serpent energy via different techniques. Dr Bynum knows his stuff, he takes you on a journey through different mystical schools of thought on awakening the kundalini serpent, from Kemet, India, Vodun, Orisha, Dogon and even Pentecostal churches and raising the energies, I will not pretend this is an easy book to read, this is like an initiation into cosmic sciences in which the student must pay attention. on page 183 the section on Health and Breath has me more aware of my breathing throughout the day, I found myself practicing some of the exercise in the book and went to a deeper meditative state, while the frequencies on this planet has changed, leading those of us who are spiritualist into a more profound state of consciousness and easy moving in and out of a trance like state, this books breaks down the nuts and bolts of the overall matrix of how to awaken the serpent energies, this book has put me on a path to explore more of the dark light consciousness experience.
I'm going to have to read this book a few times. Very informative book for those that know a little something about Space time Continuum, meditation and different dimensions. In order for me to fully assimilate this however, Im going to need a crash course in the aforementioned.
Finally a book that highlights the fact that science and spirituality don't have to be mutually exclusive. With the advent of rationalism in the 19th century, we in the west have become materialists, believing that the observable universe and physical reality is all there is which couldn't be farther from the truth. Ancient traditions have always known what modern science is finally beginning to understand, that reality and consciousness are not limited to our physical reality, but rather that both are inextricably liked in the strata of the universe and higher consciousness. Human consciousness is akin to a tuner, as you are reading this review your consciousness is tuned in to the particular frequency of this physical reality but through practices such as meditation etc, you can tune in to other frequencies and higher dimensions which is covered in this book.The book is fascinating but the prose style reads like doctoral dissertation and could definitely be a struggle for the average layperson. My main concern was that the traditional methods of yogic breathing, difficult poses and breath work which are used to activate the Ureaus, or serpent power which is the main purpose of this book, would be too difficult for me, but my fears were unfounded as there is an entire chapter with alternate methods of achieving this that are less demanding. In closing I would say buy this book, keep an open mind and just consider the possibility that there is a whole reality beyond the limited range of the five senses.

Dark Light Consciousness is a powerful book for anyone that is truly interested in topics concerning ancient theology, serpent power (kundalini), melanin, and the science behind all of this. A lot of the information you will read in this book with be so incredible that your going to ponder whether or not this is some new age woo or honest scientific research. After I spent more time fact checking the information in the book and verifying the sources used, I can confirm that the author has done his true diligence in his research. I even emailed the author on one occasion to inquire into a certain claim he makes in the book, and he sent me more sources to verify it. This is truly an enlightening book that anyone searching for knowledge will enjoy.
This is one of the best books I've read in years! It goes into great detail about conciousness as it relates to the mental, physical spiritual and the universe! I would buy anything Bruce writes based on this book alone! I am now a permanent fan of his teachings!
Started off slow but at the end i had an aha moment i decided to let a friend borrow this book it needs to be shared. If your into spirituality and you also like science you will enjoy this book
